God Nudges Me Awake

A helpful wakeup shake while praying

Setting the Scene:

This interaction came in the fall of 2025. It was around nine or ten at night and I was praying the rosary in my bed.

WHEN GOD TALKED BACK

I have a goal to pray at least one rosary every day. Like many people, sometimes this is what I am doing before I go to bed. The intention is there and something I hope to get better at, but alas, sometimes I save it until the last minute.

On this particular evening, I was laying in bed and praying with an app that recites the prayers and meditations. During the last decade, my eyes got heavy and I closed them. It was the period when you are still fully awake, but can feel the tiredness setting in. My eyes were closed for no more than 2 Hail Maries and I felt it. Someone placed their hand on my right foot. The grabbed from big toe to pinky toe and shook by foot gently right and left.

I opened my eyes and pulled my head up looking to the end of the bed. I fully expected to see my wife thinking I had drifted off during evening prayer. There was no one there. I immediately grinned from ear to ear. I giggled to myself, laying my head back. I said "thanks God." Immediately back into prayer, wide awake and completing my evening prayer.
